Cookies & Local Storage Notice
This notice explains how Searchlight uses cookies, browser local storage, and related technologies. It should be read with our Privacy Policy.
Current approach
Searchlight does not currently use advertising cookies or cross-site behavioral advertising. We use browser storage and technical identifiers primarily to operate accounts, preserve product preferences, secure the service, and understand basic product usage.
Essential browser storage
Searchlight uses local storage and authentication/session technologies to keep you signed in, remember the selected plan and account draft, preserve recruiter-profile and workflow preferences, identify the selected organization, and maintain security state. Disabling essential storage may prevent account, checkout, dashboard, or saved-workflow features from functioning.
First-party analytics
Searchlight may record first-party events such as page path, page title, referrer, timestamp, product action, browser/user-agent information, and a pseudonymous visitor hash derived from technical request information. We use this to understand product performance, diagnose errors, and improve conversion and usability. It is not used to create third-party advertising profiles.
Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control
Where technically available, Searchlight’s non-essential first-party analytics respects browser Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control signals. Essential account, security, and service storage may continue because it is needed to provide requested functionality.
Third-party services
Payments, authentication, hosting, and other service functions may involve providers such as Stripe, Supabase, and Vercel. Their systems may use technical storage necessary to provide their services. Searchlight will update this notice and implement any required consent mechanism before intentionally deploying non-essential cookies or similar technologies that require consent.
Managing storage
You can clear or block cookies and local storage through your browser settings. Doing so may sign you out, remove saved preferences, or prevent parts of Searchlight from working. Marketing preferences and email opt-outs should be managed through the email method provided or by contacting us.
